AV wiring up

After much searching Im going to buy the JVC KWAVX810 headunit system (mainly because of the removable face) with bluetooth adaptor and the KV-CM1K reversing camera.

Im after any advise on how the reverse camera will work i.e. to detect when reverse gear is selected so that the camera becomes live/broadcast on the screen? I have not yet taken the dash apart and started the install and just wanted some pointers of what to expect.
Is there some sort of Honda Hybrid ISO fix wiring harness that is used?
Im already on the case with David @ Steels for the camera rear trim :p

Any help/pointers are welcome

let me know how you get on James - I'm really not getting on with this Alpine stereo unit in mine and need a change!

I have taken my Jap double din Garther headunit, and yes it was fun! Basiclly this is an offical Honda upgrade so this was well and truly put in. I did have to remove the parts as in the guide!

Has anyone else changed there HU and know what the iso lead to get and where? (This lead adapts the standard Honda Civic car wiring to enable use of an aftermarket stereo) as I really dont want to have to identify/trace/test wires then modify the Garthers HU harness for use with the JVC.
I will also need to get some sort of ariel splitter/adaptor

Any ideas :?
(Also the honda upgrade audio system also has a Honda Bass Works amp in the boot, not sure if this will have any affect on the ISO lead needed)

The reverse gear issue for the rear camera is sorted by joining to the switch live of the reverse lamp, and like wise with the parking brake bypass(still wacth vid on the move :naughty: ) just ground it to replicate the ground from the hand brake switch)

Never fear the unexpected, all went fine with the install, kinda simply in the end. Really impressed with HU so far, and Im usally a Alpine or Kenny hoo.
Here are a few pics :-D

From the pictures i can see that it was quite some work to disconnect your previous HU... did you do all the work( disconnection + installation) yourself?
Did you find the iso lead that you mention above?
I was thinking of this one: http://www.alpine-electronics.co.uk...roductcatalog_pi1[show]=features#ridercontent, but after i show the JVC one I am quite tempted. How much was roughly the cost of the unit (i have found the JVC one for ~£360)?

I done it all myself :-D Wasnt too bad in the end, but I am a sparks. You do need to have half a clue and have a multimeter and the right tools etc..
I buttered up a local car electronics specialisist to make me up a iso lead and ariel adaptor(but I think you can buy them ready made)
The head unit was mounted from the rear of the console and used a universal trim to hide OEM cage/fitting brakets
I got the JVC headunit, bluetooh adaptor, ipod lead and the revervse camera all in for £550 from Audio66, ontop of this I bought a universal double din black plastic fascia and trimmed it to fit, ISO adaptor leads and the rear camera boot trim(from Honda), so all in fitted cost was around £630.
So far Im very impressed with the sound quality and overall performance. Im usally a Kenny or Alpine hoo but JVC has suprised me especially for the cost.

I 've never done this before so i ll have to have it fitted. I checked the website of Audio66 and it's sold out!

Give there main branch/office a bell as they werent even listed on there web site when I ordered, worth giving it a go.
Be intrested to see how much a Audio shop will charge to fit this?
